Red flags that kill deals later

The issues that look minor at a showing and become major during underwriting.

Some problems don't show up until much later in the process, and by then, you're emotionally invested and financially exposed. Watch for signs of foundation issues, unpermitted additions, outdated electrical systems, or anything that looks like a DIY fix gone wrong. These don't necessarily mean "walk away," but they do mean "ask hard questions now," before you're deep into a contract.
